The Health Equipment Lending Program depends on your donations of durable medical equipment
We are currently accepting all used medical equipment items for donation, provided they are in working condition with little to no rust. (Say to yourself…’Would I use this piece of equipment?’ to determine if it is worth donating.)
Some of the items that we are currently looking for are: Overbed tables, hospital bed rails, standard bed handles, hoyer lifts, sit to stands, standers, pedalers, transfer boards and step stools.
Bariatric equipment, heavy duty pieces of home medical equipment designed for those people who weigh 300 pounds or more, is always a need. Bariatric wheelchairs, shower/bathtub chairs, walkers and rollators are items we can always use.
The top requested items in 2023 from our lending closet were:
- Knee Scooters
- Bath Benches
- Hospital Beds
Fortunately, we currently have a pretty good supply of these on hand!
Why Donate?
The goal of the Health Equipment Lending Program is to be the conduit between those who donate medical equipment, and those who need it. All donated items are tax deductible. A receipt for your donation is available upon request.
Items that we do not accept:
Basic medical supplies (oxygen tubing, surgical pads, wound care, at-home care disposables) • First aid items (bandages, tape, ointments, etc.) • CPAP and BiPAP machines • Leg braces, boots, arm or wrist braces, back braces, prosthetics. • Non-medical therapy (treadmill, exercise bikes, etc.)
Surplus of donated medical items are shipped overseas and shared with those less fortunate in developing countries.
